The Summer Transportation Camp is a two-week program conducted on the FIU Engineering Center. The program introduces high school students to transportation engineering and bridge engineering applications, and careers in transportation. The experience will help pre-college students plan and prepare for college. The program will include classroom instructions, hands-on lab experience, field trips, and group projects and presentations. Students will have an opportunity to learn about the different tools and methods transportation engineers use. Students will gain hands-on experience in traffic animation, driving simulation, traffic data collection and analysis, basics of bridge engineering, seismic behavior of bridges, accelerated construction of bridges, health monitoring of bridges, and more.
WHEN: July 13 - July 24, 2015, from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm, Monday through Friday. WHERE: FIU Engineering Center, 10555 West Flagler Street, Miami, FL 33174 WHO: Applicants must be entering the 10th, 11th or 12th grade beginning in Fall 2015 FEE: The program is offered free of charge to participants. Participants are only responsible for their own lunches, snacks, and beverages. APPLICATION: Please fill out and submit the attached application form. Additional required application materials include: (a) a copy of the current school year report card; and (b) a statement from the student explaining reasons for wanting to participate in the program and academic career interests. Hello ladies!
This years set of bows were distributed Friday, October 3rd. If you have already received your bow, I hope you are enjoying them. If not, please let me know at the next meeting (Tuesday, October 7th) and I will be sure to give you one.
